I get interrupted too.
In German, English and Spanish.
Halfway through my point, someone jumps in:
„Ja, aber eigentlich …“
My heart starts racing.
A little voice says: Stay nice. Say nothing.
But once you go quiet, you're quiet for the rest of the meeting.
So here's what I do:
Breathe. Eye contact. Two seconds of silence.
Then, calm and friendly:
People nod. And the floor is yours again.
Under pressure, your brain grabs what's already there.
So the sentence has to be ready before you need it.
The good news: that's trainable.
It's exactly what we do in our sessions. A safe space, and I'm your sparring partner.
We practice it until it comes out on its own.
Comment "SENTENCE" and I'll send you my 10 rescue sentences for meetings in German.
